Foundation Installation Monitoring to Optimize Subsurface Soil Characterization

All engineering is based on the application of rigorous sciences. In case of geotechnical engineering associated with driven pile foundation construction faces there are many uncertainties due to the non-homogeneous variations of subsurface soils in the three dimensions. This presentation discusses the use of Foundation Installation Monitoring of concrete piles using embedded sensors to supplement and optimize Subsurface Soil Characterization using traditional site investigation methods such as soil borings.
