Educational Trust

The Deep Foundations Institute Educational Trust is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2006 by the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) as its charitable arm.

Educational Trust Mission Statement

The mission of the Trust is to support and encourage individuals in the fields of study related to the deep foundations industry by providing scholarships, grants and opportunities to meet and work with deep foundations industry leaders.

The Trust manages several programs to engage students and young professionals in the deep foundations industry including the Student Paper Competition, Young Professor Paper Competition, and the DFI Women in Deep Foundations Committee Professional Development Grant. The Trust also supports the ACE Mentor Program.

To provide financial support to students interested in pursuing a career in the industry, the Trust manages a growing number of scholarship funds which are given annually to students enrolled in civil engineering, construction management, electrical engineering and computer science curricula. The Trust also organizes several fundraisers to raise awareness and donations for the Educational Trust programs. Annual events include the Gala Fundraising Dinner, Ben C. Gerwick Award for Innovation in the Design and Construction of Marine Foundations, Hal Hunt Lecture, Osterberg Memorial Lecture, the Awards Banquet at the DFI Annual Conference, Golf Outings and Giving Tuesday.
