The DFI Educational Trust (www.trust.dfi.org) recently appointed three new members to the Board of Trustees.
Tracy Brettmann, P.E., D.GE, is a vice president/regional manager for Berkel and Company Contractors in Houston. He has been involved with the design, installation and quality control of deep foundations for more than 20 years. Brettmann received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska and his M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a registered P.E. in Texas and Louisiana. He is a past president of DFI and was previously the chairman of DFI’s Augered Cast-in-Place Pile Committee.
Rudolph “Rudy” Frizzi, P.E., GE, D.GE, is a senior principal with Langan Engineering and Environmental Services in Elmwood Park, N.J. He has extensive practical foundation and geotechnical engineering experience throughout North America and overseas, with particular emphasis on arenas and high-rise structures in urban areas, large-scale land development, embankments, slopes and deep excavations. Frizzi holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is licensed as a P.E. in 11 states and holds a GE license in California. Rudy is the immediate past president of DFI.
John Wolosick, P.E., is the director of engineering for Hayward Baker Inc., Atlanta, Ga. He specializes in micropiling and underpinning, anchors, earth retention and landslide stabilization, and all types of grouting. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has more than 30 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and contracting. Wolosick is the author of more than 30 technical papers and the recipient of the 2008 ASCE Geo-Institute Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award. He is a registered P.E. in nine mid-Atlantic and southern states as well as the District of Columbia. He will serve as the treasurer of the DFI Educational Trust Board. He currently serves as the treasurer of the DFI Board of Trustees and was previously secretary on the board. He co-chaired the joint DFI-ADSC Micropile Committee from 2004-2007.

The Deep Foundations Institute Educational Trust (www.trust.dfi.org) is an independent, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization established in 2006 by the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) as its charitable arm. The mission of the Trust is to support and encourage individuals in the fields of study related to the deep foundation industry by providing scholarships and opportunities to meet and work with deep foundation industry leaders.
