The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) is hosting its sixth annual SuperPile conference on May 15-16, 2013 at the Hilton Minneapolis in Minneapolis, MN.
SuperPile 2013 is a collaboration of seven DFI Technical Committees and is chaired by Jeff Gebhard, Braun Intertec, Minneapolis. The two-day event will offer more than 20 technical presentations on driven piles, augered cast-in-place/drilled displacement piles, micropiles, marine foundations, testing and evaluation of foundation systems, seismic design, and drilled shafts. The conference will also include approximately 40 exhibitors.
There will be two guest speakers at SuperPile 2013. Gregg Piazza, P.E., Mueser Rutledge Consulting Engineers, New York, NY, will present “Hurricane Sandy, Rapid Response Inspection and Coastal Flood Protection.” Thomas O. Herrington, Ph.D., Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, N.J, will speak about the Center for Maritime Systems, where he is the coastal protection technical assistance service assistant director, and address possible changes in federal flood maps following Superstorm Sandy.
