DFI Appoints Andrew Verity as New Driven Pile Committee Chair

DFI announces the appointment of Andrew Verity of Gerdau Long Steel North America, as the new chair of DFI’s Driven Pile Committee, one of 15 DFI Technical Committees. He is succeeding Clayton Signor of TXPile.

Verity is currently a product engineer-piling at Gerdau Long Steel North America. He has more than 20 years of experience in geotechnical engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Queen Mary College, University of London. He started his career in Paris, France, working as a design engineer for the Reinforced Earth Company, and then moved to geotechnical engineering consultancy developing broad experience in all aspects of geotechnical engineering, from designing ground investigations to designing retaining walls and foundation solutions. He worked on major European infrastructure projects such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Verity joined Gerdau in 2012 to promote its piling products, specifically the hot rolled steel sheet piling. As well as his role in DFI, Verity is an active member of organizations such as PDCA, USSDams, SAME, TRB and ASCE, serving on various committees.

DFI’s Technical Committees focus on the unique issues of major methods and technologies within deep foundations and excavation, and keep DFI members and the industry up to date with the state of practice through publications, guidance documents, peer-review of papers, educational events and committee reports in Deep Foundations magazine.
