The International Society for Micropiles (ISM), in alliance with ADSC and DFI, will host the 12th International Workshop on Micropiles in Kraków, Poland, June 11–14, 2014. The 2.5-day workshop includes technical presentations on innovations and advancements in all aspects of micropile design, construction and use.
Highlights of the workshop include:
- Introduction of the Lizzi Lecturer by Professor Fedele Lizzi, son of Dr. Fernando Lizzi, visionary leader of ISM and inventor of the pali radice or the original root pile foundation system.
- 8th Lizzi Lecture: “Micropile Life Cycle – Experiences in Mature Markets and Expectations for New Markets,” by Nadir Ansari, P.Eng., Isherwood Associates, Canada.
- Presentation and award of the 6th Lizzi Scholarship to a graduate student researching in the field of micropiles.
- 1st World Cup of Micropiles Challenge, in which world regions showcase their most innovative micropile projects. The top project will be selected by the delegates at the workshop.
- State-of-the-art presentations by micropile industry leaders in technical sessions covering innovations, design and load testing, case histories, slope stabilization, and foundation support.
- Networking opportunities with micropile practitioners from around the world.
- In-depth, one-day micropile design and construction short course.
- Companions and social program showcasing beautiful, historic Krakow.

About the ISM-ADSC-DFI Alliance
