The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust (www.dfitrust.org), the charitable arm of DFI, recently appointed a new member to the Board of Trustees.
Zoran “Zac” Curanovic, P.E., was elected to serve as an at-large member for a two-year term. Curanovic is currently employed with Underpinning and Foundation Skanska, where he is involved in many aspects of deep foundations design and construction. Prior to joining Skanska, Curanovic was employed with Moretrench America Corporation. His combined experience includes working on drilled shafts, secant pile walls, minipiles, tieback and tiedown anchors, driven piles, support of excavation systems and dewatering projects.
Curanovic moved to the U.S. from Montenegro in 2001. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Science at Westchester Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering at Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y. A registered professional engineer in New York, he is the ACE Mentorship Program team leader at Manhattan College/Westchester.
