Scot Litke to Author Column for DFI’s Deep Foundations Magazine
Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) announces that S. Scot Litke, D.GE (Hon.), past editor of ADSC’s Foundation Drilling magazine, is the author of a new column for Deep Foundations, DFI’s flagship publication. The column, Beneath the Surface, shares useful insights and guidance on managing business and advancing careers in the deep foundations industry. The column will debut in the May/June 2015 issue of the magazine.
“As a noted editor, author, researcher, lecturer and industry leader, Scot Litke has a tremendous amount of expertise and understanding of the deep foundations industry,” says Theresa Engler, DFI’s executive director. “We are excited to be able to share this knowledge with our members and all readers of the magazine.”
Since 1982, Litke was the editor of the ADSC’s Foundation Drilling magazine. He also held the position of ADSC executive director from 1982 to 2009. During this time, Litke managed over 25 drilled foundation and anchored earth retention research projects funded by the ADSC and FHWA. He was inducted into ADSC’s Hall of Fame in 2012.
Litke was a member of the Board of Trustees of the ASCE /Geo-Institute’s Academy of Geo-Professionals from 2010 to 2013, and was awarded the title of Honorary Diplomate. He has been active on multiple industry committees for associations such as ASCE, ISSMFGE, AASHTO T-15, Geo-Coalition, USACE and OSHA/ADSC Alliance. He received USUCGR’s Research Achievement Award in 2004. In 2013 he was granted the title “Member Emeritus” by the ASCE/Geo-Institute’s Deep Foundations Committee. In 2014, he received DFI’s Distinguished Service Award (DSA), honoring individuals chosen by their peers for exceptionally valuable contributions to the advancement of the deep foundations industry.
