DFI Announces Board of Trustees Election Results

DFI’s membership voted to elect three new members to the DFI Board of Trustees and re-elect three members and the current officers as follows. Their terms begin on January 1, 2016.

Anne Lemnitzer, Ph.D., P.E., is an assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine. Her research focus is on experimental soil structure interaction with an emphasis on deep foundation systems. She is currently the co-editor of the DFI Journal and serves on various committees for DFI, the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and on the board of the Los Angeles Geo-Institute Chapter. She received her B.S. from the University of Applied Science in Leipzig, Germany, an M.S. in geotechnical engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and an M.S. /Ph.D. in structural and earthquake engineering from UCLA.

Conrad W. Felice, Ph.D., P.E., is president and CEO of ILF Consultants. He is also a professional engineer registered in 15 states, Puerto Rico and four Provinces in Canada, and a retired U.S. Air Force Civil Engineering Officer with 27 years of service. Felice’s technical area of practice is foundation engineering for long span bridges, tunnels and underground systems, and marine structures. His focus is on construction methods, cost and constructability, with a specialization in the use of numerical modeling in the design and construction process of engineered systems. He is an active member of DFI and the Transportation Research Board, an adjunct professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville in the School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment, and the author of numerous papers and presentations. He has a B.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from Ohio University and the University of Utah, respectively, and an M.S. in facilities management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Marty Taube, P.E., P.G., is vice president of business development for Menard USA. He is a registered professional engineer and professional geologist in Pennsylvania. Taube has written numerous papers about ground improvement techniques and specialty geotechnical construction practices. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Louisiana Engineering Society, Engineers Without Borders, Geoprofessional Business Association, and is the past chair of the DFI Ground Improvement Committee. He received a B.S. in geophysics from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in geotechnical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

James Johnson, executive vice president of Condon-Johnson & Associates; Erik Loehr, Ph.D., P.E., professor at University of Missouri; and Alan Roach, president and CEO of Berkel & Co. Contractors were re-elected to the board.

The current officers of the DFI Board of Trustees were also re-elected, including John Wolosick, P.E., D.GE, of Hayward Baker, president; Dan Brown, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE, of Dan Brown & Associates, vice president; Matthew Janes, P. Eng., of Isherwood Associates, treasurer; and Michael Wysockey, Ph.D., P.E., of Thatcher Foundations, secretary.
