DFI to Host 43rd Annual Conference on Deep Foundations

Abstracts Being Accepted Until December 15

Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) is hosting its 43rd Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, October 24-27, 2018, in Anaheim, Calif. The theme of the conference is Mastering the Challenge: Engineering for Complex Loading Conditions in the 21st Century

The 2018 conference will feature technical presentations on innovations and advancements that address performance-based design and construction of foundations subject to increasingly challenging structural demands. The conference will also provide an international forum for a wide range of geo-professionals to present, discuss and debate all aspects of assessment, development, design and mitigation for complex loading conditions in the 21st century. Several panel discussions are planned where invited specialists will interact with the audience to examine pressing issues in foundation industry practices. 

The conference also includes keynote lectures, the Hal Hunt Lecture, Expo Sessions presented by DFI manufacturer/supplier/service provider members, networking opportunities, and approximately 150 exhibits featuring innovative products and services. 

The event is expected to draw more than 1,000 engineers, contractors, government agency representatives, suppliers, manufacturers and academics involved in the deep foundations industry from around the world to share experiences, exchange ideas and learn about the current state of the practice. 

The conference chair is Anne Lemnitzer, Ph.D., P.E., assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of California Irvine, DFI trustee and co-editor of the DFI Journal. The conference program co-chairs are Rick Walsh, P.E., G.E., business development manager at Hayward Baker’s regional office in San Diego, and Reza Mortezaie, Ph.D., P.E., associate engineer at Albus-Keefe and Associates in Anaheim. 

Abstracts for technical papers and panel sessions are being accepted through Friday, December 15, 2017, at archive.dfi.org/annual2018.

Early registration opens on Monday, January 15, 2018, at noon (EST) at archive.dfi.org/annual2018.
