DFI and the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) at Rutgers University have joined forces to host a Deep Mixing and Sand Compaction Piles Technical Seminar on April 24 at Rutgers University – Busch Campus in Piscataway, N.J.
This one-day seminar covers detailed design procedures and construction of these two foundation techniques highlighted with case histories of successful applications in the field. Recognized experts in deep mixing and sand compaction piles will cover the use of these techniques for structural support applications including embankment support and slope stabilization.
The seminar kicks-off with two keynote speakers:
- Prof. George Filz, Ph.D., P.E., of Virginia Tech, addressing soil mixing
- Prof. Masaki Kitazume, P.E. JP., Dr. Eng., of Tokyo Institute of Technology, addressing sand compaction piles
