DFI Announces New Technical Committee Chairs
Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) announces that 2 of its 24 Technical Committees have new committee chairs starting in 2019.
Pollyanna Cunningham of International Construction Equipment Inc. (ICE ®), is the new chair of the DFI Driven Pile Committee, succeeding Benjamin Vance of Strata Geotech. Cunningham. In her position as the marketing and brand communications director at ICE, she has helped the company gain strong recognition in the construction industry, particularly in technology use and advocacy. She has actively supported the driven pile industry through her involvement as the secretary of the PDCA executive board and serving on its Communications Committee. Cunningham received her M.A. in human resources and M.B.A. in organizational development from Webster University and a B.A. from Penn State University in Middle Eastern Studies.
Jonathan Huff, P.E., of Goettle, is the new chair of the DFI Augered Cast-in-Place Pile Committee, following Morgan NeSmith, P.E., of Berkel and Company Contractors, who has joined the DFI Board of Trustees. Huff is a design engineer/project manager and estimator for Goettle, where his responsibilities include engineering design, estimating, project management and relationship building. His areas of expertise include augered cast-in-place piles, drilled displacement piles, micropiles, caissons and tied back earth retention systems. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky, while pitching for the university’s D1 baseball team. Huff is a member of DFI, ADSC, PDCA and a former chair of the Cincinnati Section of the ASCE Geotechnical Group.
