New Team Members Join DFI
Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) announces two new team members who have been on board for several months.
Fern Dickey, CMP, is the director of programs for DFI. In this role, she is primarily responsible for ensuring that organization-wide programs run efficiently, including events, membership services and publications. Before joining the Institute, Dickey simultaneously served as the executive director for several regional associations, including the Metropolitan New York Paint & Coatings Association and the Greater Newark Holiday Fund. Prior to that, she was the director of management education and certification for the National Association of Printers and Lithographers.
Dickey has a Master’s degree in educational psychology from New York University. She is a past president of the Business Marketing Association (New Jersey chapter), past vice president of programs for the American Marketing Association of New Jersey, and she holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. Her articles have appeared in Printing Manager and Printing News East. Dickey is the author of Last Minute Meetings (Career Press) and has been a featured radio guest on the topic of small business marketing, including a segment on National Public Radio.
Jaime Cettina joined DFI in early December 2019, filling a brand-new position as a professional development coordinator. Cettina coordinates DFI event programs, from formulation of the call for abstracts through the final program, and facilitates the paper review process and final online proceedings, while liaising with the events team, marketing and publications on all things related to seminar and conference schedules. Before joining DFI, Cettina worked for 7 years as an administrative assistant at Felician University, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in biology. She later was awarded a Master’s degree in criminal justice from Saint Leo University.
“Having these experienced professionals join DFI allows us to continue to provide quality events and opportunities for our members and the deep foundations industry,” says Theresa Engler, executive director of DFI.
