President’s Awards Presented at DFI Annual Conference

DFI President Michael Wysockey, Ph.D., P.E., presented three President’s Awards at a luncheon during the DFI 46th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations in Las Vegas on October 14.
Established in 2016, the DFI President’s Awards are given at the discretion of the DFI president to recognize the outstanding contributions and service of DFI members who advance the work of DFI. This year’s awards were presented to:
Hannah Iezzoni, P.E., Keller – North America, is an active member of several DFI technical committees — Augered Cast-in-Place and Drilled Displacement Piles, Women in Deep Foundations, Driven Piles, Micropiles, Anchored Earth Retention, and Codes and Standards. She is also the task force leader for the ACIP piles bracing study and an organizing member for the WiDF mentoring pods program. She supports DFI events by participating on organizing committees, and serves as a moderator, panel discussion lead, and technical paper author and presenter. Iezzoni also co‑organizes the 5k Fun Run/Walk for DFI’s Educational Trust.
Mary Nodine, P.E., GEI Consultants, is chair of DFI’s Subsurface Characterization Committee. She has built this relatively new committee to include over 40 active members, and fosters success on numerous initiatives on geophysics, geotechnical baseline reports, foundation reuse and GeoTechTools, including panel discussions, workshops and a case history library. Nodine is also the liaison between DFI and FHWA’s Advanced Geotechnical Methods in Exploration (A-GaME) initiative.
Tim Siegel, P.E., G.E., D.GE, Dan Brown and Associates, is co-editor-in-chief of the DFI Journal. He serves as the chair of the Ground Improvement Committee, and is an initiator and host of the Interview With A Survivor Series on DFI’s new podcast channel, Broadcasting Common Ground. Siegel is a DFI Committee Project Fund program researcher, technical paper reviewer and session moderator.
