August 8, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: DFI Educational Trust has awarded six Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Professional Development Grants of $1,750 each to women working in the deep foundations industry. The recipients are invited to attend DFI’s 47th Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, October 4-7. The grant includes complimentary conference registration and covers related expenses for attending the conference.

August 4, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: The DFI Educational Trust awarded $195,750 in scholarships this spring, which is the largest amount ever provided by the Trust during the spring round of applications. More scholarships will be awarded in the fall, thanks to the generosity of many donors and fundraising event participants and sponsors.

July 27, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: The winner of the DFI’s 2022 Outstanding Project Award is the Mosul Dam Rehabilitation Project, in Iraq, submitted by Trevi, S.p.A., service foundation division of Trevi Group. The award is being presented at DFI’s 47th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, October 4-7 in National Harbor, Maryland.

July 21, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Steph Davis, an iconic name in climbing, is presenting the 2022 Hal Hunt Lecture on Communications during DFI’s 47th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, being held October 4-7, 2022, in National Harbor, Maryland. The lecture is being presented by the DFI Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Committee.

July 19, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Hawthorne, N.J. (July 19, 2022):  Registration is open for the 6th International Conference on Grouting and Deep Mixing, being held January 15-18, 2023, in New Orleans, Louisiana. This conference, initially planned for 2022, is being presented by Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) and the International Conference Organization for Grouting (ICOG), with support from Geo-Institute’s Grouting Committee.

July 7, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Jerry A. DiMaggio, P.E., D.GE, M.ASCE, senior principal engineer − associate at Applied Research Associates (ARA), is the recipient of DFI’s highest award bestowed to an individual, the Distinguished Service Award (DSA). This award recognizes individuals who have made exceptionally valuable contributions to the advancement of the deep foundations industry. The award is being presented at the Awards Banquet during DFI’s 47th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, October 4-7 in National Harbor, Maryland.

July 7, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Nicole Robinson has joined the Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) team as the new editor for Deep Foundations. She has more than a decade of experience writing for and editing trade magazines in the construction and engineering field, including Tunnels & Tunnelling North America and Cranes Today.

June 8, 2022, Hawthorne, New Jersey: Registration is open for the 2nd DFI-PFSF Piling & Ground Improvement Conference taking place November 16-18, 2022, at International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney in Australia.

May 24, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Dan A. Brown, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE, chief engineer and senior principal, Dan Brown and Associates, has been selected as the 2022-2023 Traveling Lecturer. He is available, on request of DFI, to present lectures September 1, 2022 – August 31, 2023.

May 5, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Harry Poulos, Ph.D., D.Sc. Eng., seniorconsultant, Tetra Tech Coffey, and emeritus professor of civil engineering, University of Sydney, has been invited to present the DFI Osterberg Memorial Lecture at SuperPile ’22. The annual SuperPile conference, hosted by DFI in partnership with ADSC, is taking place at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark in Missouri on June 15-17.
