Deep Foundations for Landslides/Slope Stabilization

The focus of this committee is deep foundation-related (non-earthwork) technologies for stabilization of landslides and slopes. This practice area involves various foundation techniques developed and constructed by DFI members.

Chris Ramsey is a Senior Engineer at WSP USA Environment & Infrastructure, Inc. in the Nashville office.  Chris is key member of the Geo-Structural Design Group as part of the Infrastructure Engineering Design Division.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.  As Senior Engineer, he performs foundation and pile cap design, deep foundation designs, ground modification, underpinning, permanent and temporary retaining wall and shoring designs, finite element analyses, as well as slope stability analyses and designs for repair.  He is a licensed P.E. in eight states and the District of Columbia, and he is active in DFI, ASCE, and Geo-Institute.

One of the lead committees for this conference and software discussion held annually on the effective application of deep foundations, ground improvement, and soil mixing for stabilization of slopes and excavation support.

Factors of Safety for Slope Stabilization

Study summarizing the factors of safety for various stabilization methods and applications.
