Dan is the Chief Structural Engineering for Berkel & Company Contractors. He joined Berkel after working for nearly 20 years in the consulting business designing all types of structures, including industrial facilities, office buildings, schools, hospitals, etc. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science Degree from Johns Hopkins University. Dan has been a registered engineer since 1993 and has extensive experience designing cast-in- place pile foundation systems for commercial, industrial, government, and transportation projects

Active member of the GeoCoalition Code Council proposing code change proposals for Chapter 18 Deep Foundations of the International Building Code.
Standards
Reviewing and proposing updates to foundation-related standards.
- ASTM D1143 – Updated Standard Test Methods for Deep Foundation Elements Under Static Axial Compressive Load provided comments in collaboration with ASTM D18.11
- ASTM D3689 (tension load testing) and D3966 (lateral load testing) – providing comments in collaboration with ASTM Committee D18.11
ASCE Foundation Standard
