DFI Energy Foundations Webinar Series
July 8, July 15, & July 22, 2020 – Online
This NEW webinar series outlined good practice for designing and installing energy foundation systems to provide sustainable heating and cooling solutions. Energy foundations are ground sourced heat pump systems that use geothermal loops installed within foundations and structures to transfer heat between the ground and overlying structures.
This webinar presented the background, resources, applications, construction work flow and management considerations required to design and construct effective energy foundations. Results from recently conducted research will be presented that answer commonly asked questions about system design and effectiveness. Industry accepted design guidance and strategies for introducing energy foundation systems into project work flows will be highlighted. Information will also be provided on long term management and operations of energy foundation systems to ensure the designed heating and/or cooling demands can be optimized to enhance return on investment.
